At our brass camps, Dr. Scott and I teach students who are usually between the ages of 13-18 who play trumpet, trombone, euphonium (“baritone horn”), “French horn,” bass trombone, and tuba. We generally conduct group breathing classes to start our day, followed by “like instrument” warm-up sessions. We take a lunch break and return to brass ensemble and “sectional” rehearsals. We play a wide variety of music and like to include at least one selection in a Jazz style. At the end of the week, we give a culminating performance.
